hemp-based LEATHER alternative
LOVR is the first textile solution developed and produced by Revoltech. An all-natural and visionary material that has arrived to prove that changing for the better can be as simple as that.
Made from hemp residues, LOVR is truly sustainable, plastic-free and 100% plant-based. The unique composition technology allows the textile to be fully recycled and biodegradable. LOVR is moldable and non-abrasive, with a variety of textures and appeals.
LOVR is intrinsically based on the concept of circular economy.
Circularity happens from the beginning, with the use of hemp residues, to the end, by being placed back into production or returned to nature. With a minimal ecological footprint, LOVR can be manufactured in a climate neutral way. This standalone material can also address the problem of microplastics in nature and the oceans, because unlike many textiles, LOVR has no plastic in its composition.
The main ingredient comes from hemp fields in Germany. The plant has a high density of cultivation, does not need harmful pesticides for its cultivation and works as an efficient carbon sink.
What is harvested but left behind takes on a new purpose in their hands. Through their technology they unite organic materials and transform them into a textile.
Like every revolution, Revoltech’s story also begins with indignation. Seeing the disastrous ecological impacts of the textile industry, they decided it was time for action. After six years of research, Revoltech was officially founded in 2021 and is a spin-off company from TU Darmstadt.
